Our Story Eon Design is a creative partnership between us - Rob and Karen Pisaniello.
We met studying architecture at the University of Adelaide and spent the early part of our architecture careers also working in the hospitality industry. In 2001 we founded Eon Design in Melbourne, inspired by our combined passion for food, gathering, community and design and the influence of our Italian heritage, where cooking and eating are central to family life.
Over the years, we’ve helped businesses create memorable customer experiences, share their passion for food and community and create places where food brings people together. We have witnessed the impact their success has had on entire neighbourhoods. We have worked with experienced restaurateurs and with talented people just starting their impressive and impactful careers, many of whom have trusted us time and again to be part of their teams and success stories.

First and foremost, our designs are people-focused. Every Eon Design space creates opportunities to interact, socialise, relax and enjoy. Our restaurant and cafe designs encourage connections and positive emotions between people. We always consider each project as part of its neighbourhood and design spaces that connect to street life.
Adapting and re-using.
We see value in adapting and re-purposing old buildings. By revealing structure, retaining historical features and reinterpreting forgotten spaces in a contemporary way, we breathe new life into old buildings for years to come. In these layered spaces, a minimal design approach can really shine.
Keeping it simple.
Simplicity and utility are key to our designs, our processes, and everything we do. We don’t believe you need to create places of luxury and excess to achieve what we feel is important.
Acknowledgement of countryEon Design acknowledges Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and recognises their continuing connection to lands, waters and communities. Our studio stands on Kaurna Country, and we pay our respect to the Kaurna People, their culture and Elders past and present.
