case studyEon Design has been working with Augustus Gelatery since the brand’s beginnings in 2017, helping them communicate who they are through their physical retail experiences.
Where it all started.
Augustus Gelatery was born from the vision of providing traditional artisan gelati beyond Melbourne's inner-city areas. Seeking modern architectural spaces and bold and unique store fit-outs for their gelati's vibrant colours and delicious flavours, they chose us to design their first store in Pascoe Vale, Victoria.

As the brand grew, our clients asked us to create a scalable store design, leading to 30+ (and counting!) store designs throughout Greater Melbourne, Regional Victoria and New South Wales.
We identified the design elements of the first few original stores that had become part of the brand identity and incorporated them in the new designs, making subtle changes. The sculptural ceiling that mimics the luscious smoothness of the gelati is an exciting talking point for the store and an icon that is recognisable and memorable. Augustus Gelatery is a brand that embraces change while always offering consistency in its customer experience. So each store is a little different and responds to its context in a unique way.
